Bienvenidos, queridos — welcome, dear ones

Two Families, One Courtyard

The plaster is freshly whitewashed, the marigolds are in their pots, and the mariachis have been given fair warning about the aunties. For one long weekend the hacienda is home for everyone we love — come early, stay late, and never let your glass sit empty.

Our Story

El Encuentro

Three years ago

A Dance in the Plaza

We met at a cousin’s wedding, in a stone courtyard strung with lights. He confessed he could not dance; she said that was fine and led anyway. By the last song he had learned exactly one step — the one that kept him next to her.

The Callejón Question

On a cobbled callejón above the city, just as the Parroquia lit up rose-pink for the evening, he stopped walking and knelt on the four-hundred-year-old stones. She said yes before he finished the sentence. The street dogs were the first to congratulate us.

La Promesa

This year

Sí, Siempre Sí

The families met on the hacienda balcony with mezcal for the toasts and mole for the negotiations. There were none — everyone had already decided we belonged to each other. The date was set before the second bottle was opened.

The Fiesta

Bienvenida & Mariachi

Two evenings before

7:00 PM · The hacienda courtyard

Mezcal, mole, and a full mariachi welcome under the string lights. Come hungry, leave singing — the trumpets do not accept shyness.

La Callejoneada

The evening before

8:30 PM · From El Jardín, through the callejones

A walking parade with a brass band, a very patient donkey, and mojigangas twice your height. Ribbons and cups provided — just follow the giant puppets.

La Ceremonia

5:00 PM · The Wedding Venue

Vows in the chapel garden beneath the arches, with the lazo, the arras, and cempasúchil petals scattered down the aisle.

La Fiesta

April 6, 2027

7:30 PM · Under the papel picado

Dinner beneath a hundred paper banners, then dancing until the church bells complain. Midnight tacos al pastor are a promise, not a rumour.

la bendición del viento

Wishes Cut From Paper

Above the reception floor hang a hundred tissue banners, each one cut by hand in a San Miguel workshop. When the evening breeze moves through the courtyard, they say every flutter is a blessing read out loud.

Amor

for the vows beneath the arches

Salud

for every glass raised high

Risa

for the mariachi’s last verse

Suerte

for all the years that follow

¡que vivan los novios!

Getting to San Miguel

Everything you need to land, settle in, and find the courtyard before the first toast — signposted the San Miguel way.

Calle del Aeropuerto

Flying In

Fly into León (BJX) or Querétaro (QRO) — both are about ninety minutes from San Miguel de Allende. Land by mid-afternoon and you will make the first toast with time to spare.

Ruta de las Camionetas

The Shuttle

Shuttles meet both airports on the big days and loop between the centro hotels and the hacienda every evening. Send us your flight and we will save you a seat.

Cuesta de las Posadas

Where to Stay

Rooms are blocked at three inns in the centro histórico, each a short stroll from The Wedding Venue. Mention the wedding for the fiesta rate — San Miguel fills fast.

Camino a la Hacienda

Finding the Courtyard

The hacienda gate is ten cobbled minutes uphill from El Jardín — look for the marigold arch. Taxis know it by name, and the church bells will point you the rest of the way.

While You Are Here

El Jardín & La Parroquia

The rose-pink Gothic spires of the Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel catch the evening light over the central plaza — arrive for golden hour and stay for the bells.

Fábrica La Aurora

A century-old textile mill turned art and design quarter, a short taxi ride from the centro — galleries, studios, and a good coffee stop between fiesta days.

nuestro lugar de honor

Padrinos & Madrinas

In a Mexican wedding, padrinos are more than a wedding party — they are the couple’s chosen guides, each entrusted with one piece of the ceremony. These are ours, and we could not love them more.

Padrinos de Velación

Rosa & Ernesto Delgado

Our godparents of the candle — they stand beside us at the altar and have promised to keep our flame lit through every season.

Madrina de Arras

Carmen Ibarra

Keeper of the thirteen gold coins — the promise that whatever we have, we will always share it.

Padrino de Anillos

Diego Fuentes

Guardian of the rings until the very last moment — chosen because he has never once lost his keys.

Padrinos de Lazo

Ana & Luis Herrera

After the vows they loop the lazo around our shoulders — the figure-eight that ties two lives into one.

para nuestros invitados

A Field Guide to the Fiesta

Everything we tell friends before their first trip to San Miguel — the rooftops, the rituals, and the one rule about mezcal.

Rooftops at Golden Hour

Claim a rooftop chair an hour before sunset and watch the Parroquia turn rose-pink over the city. Order the hibiscus agua fresca, stay for the bells, then wander down for dinner.

Callejoneada Etiquette

When the band starts walking, walk with it. Take the ribbon, raise the cup, and sing the chorus even if you invent the words — in a callejoneada, the street itself is the dance floor.

A Word on Mezcal

Sip it, never shoot it — kiss the glass, as they say here. Chase it with orange and sal de gusano, and pace yourself: the dance floor opens long after the first toast.

Pack for Cobblestones

San Miguel’s streets are four hundred years old and proud of it. Bring block heels or flats, a wrap for the cool high-desert nights, and sunscreen — the sun sits closer at six thousand feet.

Questions & Answers

What should I wear?

Fiesta-festive for every event, and cobblestone-friendly shoes — block heels or flats travel best across four hundred years of cobblestones. Bring a wrap for the cool high-desert nights.

Can I bring a plus one?

Please check your invitation — if a guest is included, their name will be on it.

Are children welcome?

Of course! Little ones are welcome at every event, including the Callejoneada parade.

Is there transport between the hotels and the hacienda?

Yes — shuttles meet both airports on the big days and loop between the centro hotels and the hacienda every evening.

What about dietary needs?

Every meal has vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, and the bar pours non-alcoholic aguas frescas alongside the mezcal. Tell us about any allergies when you RSVP.
